Wizkid, a popular Nigerian singer whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun, didn’t hold back as he took shots at fellow singer Davido and music executive Don Jazzy.
In a tweet on Monday, the 33-year-old artist teased Davido about a leaked video where he was seen crying and pleading.
Wizkid had disclosed in a post on his official X account that every day he has things to say but can’t find the right words.
In response to the post, a fan nudged him to drop a new song, to which Wizkid playfully replied with a video of Davido on his knees, jokingly saying, “Beg me like this. Send video.”
Wizkid Throws Jab at Don Jazzy
Then, Wizkid turned his attention to Don Jazzy when a fan mentioned a recent jab from rapper Ladipoe, who signed with Don Jazzy’s label.
Another fan highlighted this, but Wizkid brushed it off, saying he doesn’t engage with artists signed to influencers.
He also even retweeted suggestions that he was referring to Don Jazzy as a mere social media influencer.
Wizkid’s initial tweet racked up an impressive 3.5k comments, 8.8k retweets, 36k likes, and 1.3m views, sparking a flurry of discussions online.
After a mocking tweet, Don Jazzy, the record label boss and singer, unfollowed the ‘Don’t Dull’ crooner on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Often called the big bird, he also seemed to acknowledge his mistakes by apologizing to Davido in a post showing a picture with Davido, captioning it “more love, less ego.”
Wizkid Fans Expose Don Jazzy as Influencer Amid X Feud
Meanwhile, Wizkid fans, known as FC, came to his defense by revealing evidence suggesting that Don Jazzy is indeed an influencer.
They shared a flyer showing Don Jazzy being recognized as the winner of the Pulse Nigeria 2023 Music Influencer and Media Influencer of the Year awards.
Additionally, FC found a tweet from 2020 where Don Jazzy talked about his plan to focus on influencing full-time and expressed his desire to learn from the industry’s big names.
