The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, urged Nigerian youths to stand against cybercrime.

He delivered this message during a visit by students of ARWA Basic School, Abuja, to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja on May 7, 2024.
Olukoyede, speaking through EFCC’s spokesperson, Assistant Commander Dele Oyewale, outlined various strategies to resist cybercrime, focusing on moral and spiritual fortification.
He encouraged youths to embrace innovation, hard work, and integrity to resist the temptation of internet fraud, stressing the power of mindset in making positive life choices.
Highlighting the significance of hard work in achieving success, Olukoyede emphasized that determination and dedication are essential for reaching one’s goals without resorting to fraudulent activities.
He urged youths to shun shortcuts and fraudulent schemes, emphasizing the value of honesty and diligence in achieving personal and professional fulfilment.
Don’t Transact in Dollars, EFCC Warns Hotels, Schools, Others
Meanwhile, DAILY INSIDER reported earlier that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) issued a warning to businesses like hotels, schools, and supermarkets in Nigeria, advising them not to charge their customers in dollars or any other foreign currency.
According to EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede, speaking in the latest edition of the commission’s monthly e-magazine released on Monday, April 8, it has begun securing convictions for such practices.
The commission clarified that while it’s acceptable for foreigners to use their credit cards or dollars for transactions when entering the country, it must be properly documented.
