Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state said his administration is on a mission to connect all the zones in the state together to boost the economy.
The governor made this known on Saturday, October 14, while celebrating with the people of Igboora in Ibarapa Central on the occasion of World Twins Festival 2023.
The annual festival is held to promote the cultural heritage of the Igboora community, which is said to have the highest number of twins born globally.
Speaking on the importance of boosting the economy in Omituntun 2.2, Governor Makinde said the state will incorporate tourism as part of the roadmap for sustainable development 2023-2027.
“Tourism is one of the pillars to expand our economy,” the governor said.
He also added that his administration is constructing roads connecting all regions in the state to boost the agricultural sector.
Meanwhile, Makinde on Wednesday, October 4, held a leadership retreat for the members of the Oyo state executive council.
The retreat, held in Ibadan, the state capital, was geared towards impactful leadership in Oyo, was and was attended by heads of ministries, departments and agencies.
Governor Makinde, in his speech titled “Exploring the Implementation of the Oyo State Roadmap for Sustainable Development 2023-2027” urged the participants to work for the people because the government t cannot afford to let them down.
The governor also commended the people of Oyo state for reelecting him, adding that Omituntun 2.0 will deliver to the expectations of the people of the state.
