Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has officially signed the Oyo State Project Monitoring Agency Bill 2024 into law.
The announcement came through a statement shared on Governor Makinde’s official X account on Thursday, May 9, 2024.
Makinde disclosed that the new agency will work to ensure that Oyo State gets value for public funds spent on projects.
The bill signing ceremony took place at the Governor’s office, Agodi Secretariat in Ibadan, as reported by DAILY INSIDER.
Makinde revealed that the agency would be led by Engr. Open Salawu as the Executive Assistant for Project Monitoring, with Oluwaseun Laurel serving as the Senior Special Assistant for Project Delivery.
He emphasized the importance of having a cohesive agency structure to oversee project execution, ensuring that public funds allocated to projects in Oyo State are utilized efficiently and effectively.

Meanwhile, DAILY INSIDER reported earlier that the Oyo State government has demolished scores of shops and kiosks in the Ojoo market located in the Akinyele Local Government Area of the state.
Confirming the ongoing demolition exercise on Thursday, May 9, the Commissioner for Lands, Housing, and Urban Development, Williams Akin-Funmilayo, mentioned that the State Governor, Seyi Makinde, had personally addressed the traders.
He assured them that the government would provide an alternative location, emphasizing that the current place was hazardous and the new one was nearby, just in front of the Barracks.
