The Nigerian film industry has announced the passing of another veteran actor, Zulu Adigwe.
The news of Adigwe’s death surfaced on social media platforms on Tuesday, leaving many fans and colleagues devastated.
The announcement of Adigwe’s death was made by movie producer Stanley Nwoko, who shared the news on his Instagram page.
Expressing his sorrow, Nwoko wrote, “It is with deep regret that I announce the passing of the veteran actor, Mr. Zulu Adigwe.”
Nwoko also mentioned that the cause of Adigwe’s death is yet to be disclosed, sending prayers for the late actor to rest in peace.
In 2024, Nollywood sadly bid farewell to the deaths of comedic talent Oyebamiji Quadri, fondly remembered as Sisi Quadri, who passed away at the age of 45 while undergoing treatment for an undisclosed illness at the general hospital in Ogbomoso; John Okafor, also known as Mr. Ibu; Amaechi Muonagor, who also succumbed to illness later in the month; and actress Aderounmu Adejumoke.
This tragic loss comes just two weeks after the devastating boat accident on the Anam River, which claimed the lives of Junior Pope and three other Nollywood actors.
The news of Pope’s death was confirmed by Emeka Rollas, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, on Thursday, April 11, 2024, via Instagram.
Zulu Adigwe, a Nigerian actor and singer, gained fame for his paternal roles in Nollywood movies. He rose to prominence for his role as Mr. B in the sitcom Basi and Company.
Adigwe was also part of the cast of the 2019 blockbuster, Living in Bondage: Breaking Free.
